The inspection is a whole-property job. We work through the boiler first — heat exchanger, burner, seals and safety cut-outs — then move on to the cooker, any hob, and gas fires, testing each for correct combustion. Accessible pipework is examined for corrosion and leaks, flues and vents are checked for blockages, and carbon monoxide is measured at every appliance before the CP12 is written up.
