1. Booking & deposit

A non-refundable deposit of £20 is required to secure your appointment. The deposit comes off your final bill.

• Your appointment is only confirmed once the deposit has been paid.
• The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel, reschedule, miss your appointment, or we are unable to carry out the work for reasons within your control (see section 3).
• If we need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, your deposit is refunded in full, or moved to your new date — your choice.

2. Appointments & access

You are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the property and to the appliance or area to be worked on at the agreed appointment time. This includes clearing access, securing pets, and making sure someone aged 18 or over is present where required.

3. Waiting time & no access

If you are not present, we cannot gain safe access, or we are kept waiting beyond 10 minutes:

• The visit is treated as a cancellation by you.
• Your £20 deposit is not refunded.
• A new £20 deposit is required to book another appointment.

4. Cancellations & rescheduling

• By you: you may cancel or reschedule at any time, but the £20 deposit is non-refundable. A £20 deposit applies to each appointment, so if you reschedule, the original deposit is not carried over and a new £20 deposit is required to secure the new date.
• By us: if we cancel or reschedule, your deposit is refunded in full or transferred to your new appointment. We are not liable for any other costs, losses or inconvenience caused by rescheduling for reasons beyond our control (for example illness, breakdown, weather or emergencies).

5. Prices, quotes & parts

• Prices shown on our website and quotes are estimates for standard work. The final price may vary depending on what is found on site.
• Written quotes are valid for 30 days and are based on the information you provide. The actual price may differ once the work is inspected on site; if it does, we will give you the revised price to approve before carrying out the work. The on-site price takes priority over any earlier quote.
• Our call-out charge covers the engineer's visit and a full fault diagnosis. Parts and additional labour are quoted separately.
• For repairs and installations we will diagnose the fault, then provide a quote for parts and labour. We will only carry out the additional work once you have approved the quote.
• Where extra work becomes necessary once work is underway, we will contact you for approval before proceeding wherever reasonably possible.

6. Payment

• The balance of your bill (after the deposit) is due in full on the day the work is completed.
• We accept cash, bank transfer and card payment. Bank details are provided on your invoice.
• We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue balances and to recover reasonable costs of collecting late payment, as permitted by law.
• Goods and materials supplied remain our property until paid for in full.

7. Workmanship & guarantees

Please inspect the completed work before the engineer leaves and raise any concerns at the time. Once the work has been checked and approved, it is deemed accepted.

All work is carried out with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Beyond your statutory rights, no additional workmanship guarantee is offered. Parts and appliances we supply are covered by the manufacturer's own warranty, and we will register that warranty where applicable (for example on new boiler installations).

Our workmanship does not cover faults arising from pre-existing issues, the age or condition of the existing system, misuse, tampering, or work later carried out by others.

8. Gas safety & certificates

• Gas Safety Certificates (CP12) and inspection results reflect the condition of the appliance(s) at the time of inspection only.
• If we find an appliance to be unsafe, we are required by Gas Safe Register rules to classify it accordingly and, with your permission, may turn it off. It is an offence to use an appliance known to be unsafe.
• Ongoing servicing and maintenance of your appliances remains your responsibility.

9. Customer responsibilities

• Provide accurate information about the appliance, fault and property when booking.
• Provide a safe working environment and reasonable parking access for the engineer.
• Inform us in advance of anything that may affect the work or the engineer's safety.

10. Liability

We hold appropriate insurance for the work we carry out. We are not liable for pre-existing faults, for the condition of parts or systems we have not worked on, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

11. Your right to cancel (online bookings)

Where you book online, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. By booking an appointment that falls within this period, you request that we begin providing the service during the cancellation period. If work is completed within those 14 days you lose the right to cancel, and if you cancel after work has begun you must pay for the work already carried out.

12. Complaints

We aim to put things right quickly. If you are unhappy with any work, please contact us within a reasonable time on 07404 922458 or NKGS@outlook.com so we have the opportunity to inspect and resolve the issue.

13. Your data

We collect and use your personal details (name, contact details and address) only to arrange your appointment, carry out and invoice the work, and keep records as required by law. We do not sell your data. You can ask us what we hold and request its correction or deletion where appropriate.

14. General

• We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on our website at the time of your booking.
• These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
• Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
