New Boiler Installation in Lichfield
Lichfield is a Staffordshire cathedral city with a distinctly different character to the Black Country towns we cover further south. The city centre and cathedral quarter contain some of the oldest residential properties in our coverage area — Georgian townhouses, Victorian villas and Edwardian semi-detached homes that were built to a higher specification than the working-class terrace housing of the Black Country. These older properties tend to have larger floor areas and higher ceilings, which affects the boiler output required and often makes a system boiler with an unvented cylinder a better solution than a standard combi.
Lichfield is 12 miles from our Darlaston base — typically a 25–30 minute drive via the A5 and A51 through Brownhills. We cover WS13 and WS14 across Lichfield city centre, Boley Park, Stychbrook, Curborough, and out to Burntwood, Chasetown and Chase Terrace (WS7). There is no mileage supplement for any WS13 or WS14 address.
The newer private estates built around Lichfield in the 1980s and 90s — particularly around Boley Park, Stychbrook and the areas east of the city — have a high proportion of conventional combi boilers now entering their second decade of service. At 12–15 years old, these boilers are not necessarily at end of life, but they're the age at which components start to fail more frequently and efficiency begins to decline. Many Lichfield homeowners find it more cost-effective to replace at this stage rather than continue investing in repairs on an aging system.
For Lichfield's period properties in the Cathedral Quarter, St. John's Street area and the older residential streets around the city, we take care with pipework routing and always discuss flue positioning before committing to a quote. Older properties sometimes have non-standard gas supply arrangements or original pipework that needs assessment. We survey every Lichfield property in person before providing a fixed price.
